Library lecture to feature 9/11 survivor
Decorated Army officer invites discussion about 9/11/2001 and today

The first lecture in the Batavia Public Library’s New Lyceum Lecture Series 2016-17 season will be presented at 7 p.m., September 6, at the library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.
During “Surviving 9/11,” Ryan Yantis, Lt. Col., U.S. Army, Ret., a decorated survivor of the September 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon, will share his personal account of duty, providence, and overcoming challenges that day and during the weeks and months that followed. His multimedia presentation encourages questions and discussion related to events, policies, and history leading up to the 9/11 attacks.
Since retiring from the Army in 2006, Yantis has led two successful non-profits, served as spokesman for the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, and now is the principal of SilverLeaf Leadership Communication, a public relations and leadership firm in Crystal Lake.
