Man, 20, Killed in Randall Road Motorcycle Crash Has Been Identified
The Kane County Coroner's Office on Monday released the name of the man killed in the Thursday crash.
KANE COUNTY, IL - The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the 20-year-old man killed in a crash last week on Randall Road as Justin Retherford-Speer of Oswego.
The crash occurred at 8:21 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Main Street and Randall Road in Batavia when a vehicle collided with a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was taken to Delnor Hospital and was pronounced dead at 8:45 p.m., according to authorities.
A preliminary cause of death shows Retherford-Speer died from multiple injuries, according to the coroner’s office. Toxicology samples were drawn and sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis.

Two people who were in the vehicle involved with the crash were not injured.
Randall Road was closed for more than three hours following the crash. The Kane County Coroner’s Office is cooperating with all police and fire agencies in the ongoing investigation of the incident.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Dunn Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Road in Oswego, according to Retherford-Speer's obituary. Justin's loved ones are asked to bring their favorite picture of him.
