Man Charged With Home Invasion In Batavia: Cops

Police say the man tried to force his way into a friend's house.

BATAVIA, IL — A Batavia man is in custody after he allegedly forced his way into a home in the 1300 block of Brandywine Cir. while in an argument with a friend. Police say Christopher J. Turecek, 38, of the 900 block of N. Washington, has been charged with home invasion, aggravated battery, and criminal damage to property in connection with the incident.

Police say the received a phone call around 4 a.m. about five men fighting at the home and one man screaming that he was dying. By the time police got to the scene, they found three men, one of whom was Turecek, inside the residence.

During an investigation, police say they learned that Turecek and another man had attempted to shove their way into the home. According to police, the other man involved in the alleged home invasion was not there when law enforcement arrived.

Turecek was taken to Kane County Jail. Police say the incident was isolated and that the general public is not in danger.
