Man Found Dead In Batavia Apartment ID'd: Reports
The man, 29, died of a gunshot wound after an April 25 incident, according to reports.
BATAVIA, IL — The man who was found dead in a Batavia home April 25 has been identified, according to multiple reports.
The Kane County Coroner's Office said the man who died was Darioun C. Smith, 29, the Daily Herald reported. Initial autopsy results indicate his cause of death to be a gunshot wound, according to WSPY News.
Batavia police responded shortly after 3:50 a.m. to an apartment in the 1100 block of East Wilson Street after receiving a 911 call requesting emergency assistance. When police arrived, they were met outside by a 27-year-old woman, who had apparent injuries. Inside the apartment, officers located the deceased man, Patch reported.

According to police, the man and woman knew each other. Police did not release additional details.
