Meet Live Bats At Red Oak Nature Center In Batavia

Kids can learn fun bat facts and meet the amazing nocturnal creatures in person at this family-friendly event.

BATAVIA, IL — The advent of spring often brings thoughts of chirping birds and blooming flowers, but it also brings one of the most fascinating animals on earth out of hibernation: bats! Red Oak Nature Preserve will welcome the team from Incredible Bats for special drop-in event to teach guests about bat behavior and to give them a chance to see an adorable breed of bats up close and in person.

The March 27 Batty Bats event begins with an outdoor hike past some spots where bats might hide until nighttime. Then, Incredible Bats will host a live show to help dispel rumors about bats and to show how these nocturnal creatures —which aren't rodents after all!— are more adorable then they are scary.

Admission to Batty Bats is just $15. Activities begin at 10 a.m. and last until 12 p.m. The event is geared toward children ages five and up.
