Mentally Disturbed Woman Armed With Knife Arrested Near Batavia High School: Police
Police said the incident had no connection to the high school and students and staff were never in danger of being harmed.

Police received a report of the woman who left her home carrying a small knife at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 2 and learned she was walking west on Main Street in the area of Batavia High School.
“A police officer assigned to the high school heard the dispatch on his police radio and confirmed that no students were outside the school and quickly responded to the area on foot,” according to the news release. ”He confronted the subject within a minute of the dispatch and quickly took her into custody without injury to the subject or himself.”
Police said no students or staff were ever placed in danger at any time nor were they near the scene of the arrest. The incident had no connection to the high school nor were any students or staff involved.
The subject was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
