New Location Announced For Wednesday Evening Farmers Markets In Batavia

The mid-week farmers market will coincide with the Batavia Park District's River Rhapsody Concert Series.

BATAVIA, IL — The Wednesday Evening Batavia Farmers Market returns June 10 — at a new location this year.

The mid-week market will take place from 5-8 p.m. at the South Riverwalk Plaza, at North Island Avenue and Houston Street in front of City Hall. The timeframe and location will coincide with the Batavia Park District's River Rhapsody Concert Series.

Each week, about 20 vendors will offer fresh produce, meats, cheese, baked goods, specialty foods, beverages, flowers and ready-to-eat snacks, pairing well with the concert series.

To celebrate the opening day, vendors will offer special features. Hanson's Microgreens will have a build-your-own gourmet salad bowl option, Cakeytown Marshmallows is planning a mystery marshmallow flavor, Lil C's Cheesecakes and Miss Lindy's Bakery will give out samples, and Sahha Granola will offer complimentary sample packs and recipe cards.

Shoppers who make a purchase at the market June 10 will also have the chance to be entered in a Batavia MainStreet raffle. Two winners will each receive $50 in Downtown Dollars, which can be used at dozens of businesses in downtown Batavia.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Link Match services will continue to be available at the market to make fresh and local food more accessible to the community.

Parking for the market will be available in the public lot off North River Street between State and Spring streets.
