New Principal Selected To Lead Rotolo Middle School
Tara Piatek most recently served as a dean and assistant principal at Batavia High School, a title she held for six years.

BATAVIA, IL — A new principal has been selected at Sam Rotolo Middle School in Batavia. Tara Piatek replaces Kelley Karnick, who recently announced she would not return to the school in the fall, officials said.
The Batavia Public School District 101 Board of Education is expected to approve Piatek's appointment at its August meeting.
With 14 years of experience in education, Piatek comes to Rotolo Middle School from Batavia High School, where she served as a dean and assistant principal for six years. Before joining District 101, she served as a middle school dean in a neighboring district.

The educator started her career as a high school English and speech communications teacher in Oswego. She studied speech communications and secondary education at Augustana College and received her master's degrees in curriculum and instruction and education from Olivet Nazarene University.
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with the Rotolo community and am eager to learn all of the amazing things that the students and staff at Rotolo will share," Piatek said in a statement.

She continued: "I treasure each leadership role that has led me to this moment and am excited to see what the future holds for all of us at RMS. While leaving the people I have worked with at BHS is tough, I know the connections I made there have prepared me for this role. I can't wait to meet everyone and get this year moving!"
