New Vendors For Batavia Boardwalk Shops Unveiled
The newest set of businesses — including a bakery, several boutiques and a wood shop, will open for the season in May.

BATAVIA, IL — Two months from now, the newest set of Batavia Boardwalk Shop tenants will open their shops to the public.
Ten businesses, ranging from food-centric shops to ones selling clothing or handmade goods, will open their doors to the public May 12. The Boardwalk Shops will be open through December.
The Boardwalk Shops, in its fourth season, is a concept that allows budding businesses to test out brick-and-mortar spaces before potentially deciding to move to permanent locations. And many do, according to Batavia MainStreet, the nonprofit that runs the Boardwalk Shops.

Of the eight shops that operated in the Boardwalk Shops' inaugural season in 2020, six later moved to permanent locations. In 2021, six of the 10 shops opened brick and mortars and are "succeeding in business," Patch reported.
Located on the southeast corner of Wilson and River Streets in downtown Batavia, the collection of shops will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
