(ST CHARLES) Vero Voce Theater in St Charles proudly presents Next to Normal. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 6:00 pm, May 27 - June 12, 2016 in the Pheasant Run Mainstage Theater, located at 4051 E. Main Street, St. Charles IL 60174.
Next To Normal, with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards including Best Musical Score as well as the 2010 Pulitzer Prize.

Dad's an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal, because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years. Next To Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family's story with love, sympathy and heart.
“The rock/pop style of music goes hand-in-hand the emotionally driven show due to the topic and situations the characters find themselves in,” says Dawn Harkins, the shows Music Director.

Next To Normal is directed by David Rodriguez, with Assistant Director Katie Czajka, Music Director Dawn Harkins (Vero Voce Co-Owner), Richard Prost as Pianist, and Daniel Eastwood as Drummer.
The cast includes Christopher Kremer (Barrington), Hope Schafer (Chicago), Kristin Willaert Balsitis (St Charles), Charles Kay (Homewood), Keith deBolt (Naperville), and Eric Richter (Elgin).
