'Numerous' Graffiti Incidents Reported Downtown: Batavia Police
Police are investigating to find suspects after private businesses and public property were targeted in the past two weeks.
BATAVIA, IL — Police have received "numerous" reports of criminal defacement in the past few weeks, prompting officers to open an investigation, officials said Monday.
The defacement involving spray paint and graffiti took place at private businesses and public property in the "downtown areas, both on the east and west sides of town. Signs on bike paths throughout town were also hit with paint marker, police said.
"The Batavia Police Department takes these incidents seriously and is currently investigating to identify any involved suspect(s)," police wrote in a news release.

To help with the investigation, officials are asking anyone with information "that might lead to a resolution in these cases" to contact the department at 630-454-2500.
