Presentation by Author James L. Swanson March 11

The One Book, One Batavia 2015 Main Event. Washington attorney to speak at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre.

April 14, 2015, marks the 150th anniversary of the night Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth in Ford’s Theatre, Washington, D.C. James L. Swanson, author of Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer, the One Book, One Batavia 2015 selection, will speak at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre at 7 p.m., March 11. Swanson will talk about writing his book, the young adult version of the book—Chasing Lincoln’s Killer—also authored by Swanson, and all things Abraham Lincoln. Book selling and signing will follow the presentation.

Swanson is an attorney in Washington, D.C., and a noted Lincoln scholar. Manhunt won the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Fact Crime book and was a New York Times best seller.

One Book, One Batavia is an annual community-wide reading program presented by the Batavia Public Library in cooperation with Batavia High School and co-sponsored by the Friends of the Batavia Public Library. This year, additional funding was provided by the Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence.
