'Significant Increase' In Vehicle Burglaries In Batavia: Police
The Batavia Police Department has also seen a higher number of reported motor vehicle thefts.

BATAVIA, IL -- The Batavia Police Department is investigating several reports of vehicle burglaries and motor vehicle thefts that have occurred in recent weeks, authorities said Tuesday. The "significant increase" in vehicle burglaries is happening during the overnight hours, according to a Facebook post from the Batavia Police Department. The suspect or suspects are targeting unlocked vehicles.
"The Batavia Police Department strongly encourages all citizens to keep their vehicles locked at all times," according to the Facebook post. "In addition, please remove all valuables from your vehicle, including car and house keys."
Anyone who notices any suspicious activity should call 911.
