Spooky Season At Batavia Park District: See What's Planned For October
Most events this month are Halloween-themed. They include Nightmare at West Main and the Halloween House Decorating Contest.

BATAVIA, IL — With spooky season officially here, families are decorating their yards, putting out pumpkins and stocking up on candy ahead of Halloween.
To celebrate the season, the Batavia Park District has an array of events planned throughout the month of October.
While the weather remains pleasant, albeit chillier, it's a key time to continue being outside and enjoying nature before winter settles in. Here is a look at what the park district has planned this month.

- A Nightmare at West Main
- What: A haunted hike through spooky trails where ghoulish fun awaits. The event is not recommended for children under 10. Registration, which costs $10 in advance or $12 day of, is required.
- When: 7-9 p.m. Oct. 14 and Oct. 21
- Where: West Main Community Park, 40W101 Main St.
- Halloween House Decorating Contest
- What: A contest to see which houses in the Batavia Park District's area have the best Halloween decorations. Prizes will be awarded for best overall theme and people's choice.
- When: 6-9 p.m. Oct. 19
