Steinbeck spoof "Of Grapes and Nuts" opens at Albright Theatre Company.

Albright Theatre Company kicks off 41st Season with hilarious sendup of Steinbeck classics.

“Of Grapes and Nuts,” the first show of the Albright Theatre Company’s 41st season, opens Friday, September 5. “Of Grapes and Nuts” skewers two John Steinbeck classics, The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men, in one hilarious road trip, as the intrepid Joad clan—Ma, Pa and Tom—along with Tom’s simple-minded prison buddy, Lenny, abandon the family farm in the Oklahoma Dust Bowl and travel to California seeking employment on a peach farm. However, Crazy Curly’s Pickin’ Plantation isn’t all that it seems, and soon the Joads find themselves in more trouble than “a one-toothed man in a corn-eatin’ contest.”
