These Roads Will Be Impacted For Batavia 4th Of July Fireworks Show
Batavia is celebrating the United States' 250th birthday with its annual Sky Concert at Engstrom Park.
BATAVIA, IL — As the United States' 250th birthday is quickly approaching, the Batavia Police Department shared details about the city's celebratory Sky Concert.
Independence Day festivities are taking place July 4 at Engstrom Park, 326 Millview Drive. The Batavia Community Band will perform, and vendors will begin serving food and beverages at 5 p.m. The fireworks show will start at 9:30 p.m. and last for about 30 minutes.
The main observation areas for the show are the park and West Wilson Street.

Main Street will close to all car traffic between Feece Drive and Van Nortwick Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Traffic will be detoured to Wilson Street.

The following roads will be most impacted, police said.
- Randall Road from Main Street to Fabyan Parkway
- Wilson Street and Main Street around Batavia High School
- Route 31 through the downtown area
Barricades will be installed around surrounding routes, and detours will be posted to direct drivers, police said.
"Motorists are encouraged to plan driving routes accordingly and allow plenty of time to patiently drive into and around the event area," Deputy Chief Mike Johnson wrote in a news release.
Dogs and alcoholic beverages will not be permitted at event observation areas, police said.
