Trick-Or-Treating In Batavia: Hours Changed For Halloween
Trick-or-treating in Batavia will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Halloween. The hours were altered from the original 1-5 p.m. recommendation.
BATAVIA, IL — Halloween is right around the corner, and Batavia residents are preparing their festivities. Ahead of the holiday, Batavia officials changed the city's recommended trick-or-treating hours to take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
Originally scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., residents were concerned about the earlier time frame impeding with other activities and not being dark enough to properly enjoy Halloween decorations.
"Please understand that the original change was made out of a concern for children’s safety having to cross streets in the dark," officials said in a news release Tuesday. "If your children are out after dusk, please take precautions to make sure that cars can see them."
