Upcoming Community Dinner Table To Feature Mediterranean-Inspired Meal

Tickets have gone on sale for the Batavia United Way event that brings neighbors together for a shared outdoor meal.

BATAVIA, IL — Batavia United Way is hosting its annual Community Dinner Table event Sept. 7, and this year's menu is slated to be a Mediterranean-inspired meal.

The shared-table experience, planned from 4-6 p.m. on River Street, allows residents to dine and mingle at one long table in downtown Batavia.

The dinner will feature oven-roasted chicken with Greek lemon sauces, roasted potatoes and salads, all sourced from local restaurants. The meal will end with a slice of Portillo's famous chocolate cake.

"Enjoy a shared table with neighbors and friends while supporting Batavia United Way’s mission to help every resident thrive through programs that build health, financial security, and opportunity," organizers said of the event.

Tickets cost $65 and include the full meal plus a selection of beverages, including lemonade from Raising Cane's, fruited Berliner Weisse beers from Energy City Brewing, craft brews from Sturdy Shelter, and a special cocktail from Whiskey Acres.
