Wednesday in Batavia: Learn How to Navigate the Affordable Care Act
The Universalist Church is serving as a satellite site for a teleconference, providing information needed to help people in our community navigate and access health security provided by the Affordable Care Act.
OK, it's not precisely in Batavia, but it's very close by, and if you've got questions about the Affordable Care Act, it's a good thing to attend.
Today — Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 — you can learn more about the Affordable Care Act from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, 110 S. Second St.
The church is serving as a satellite site for a teleconference, providing information needed to help people in our community navigate and access health security provided by the Affordable Care Act.
There will be a morning plenary followed by small group discussions designed to empower faith and community leaders to help people access health care benefits.
A light breakfast and a lunch will be served on Wednesday.
Preregistration is required so that sufficient food and handouts can be provided. Registration is free. Please contact Jean Pierce at socialjusticechair@uusg.org or through the church office at 630-232-2350.
The conference is sponsored by the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago in partnership with The Campaign for Better Health Care, The Center for Faith and Community Health Transformation (Advocate Health System), Samaritan Interfaith Counseling Center in Naperville, and the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago.
