BATAVIA, IL — It's a big weekend for Sturdy Shelter Brewing. The downtown Batavia brewery is hosting its first Oktoberfest this weekend, and it's spanning three days.

Each day from Friday to Sunday will feature a stein-holding and costume contests and a photo booth. It wouldn't be an Oktoberfest without Bavarian pretzels, and Sturdy Shelter has you covered — with a classic mustard dipping sauce in tow.

Guests can indulge Burn'n Bull barbeque from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Smokey Rose Barbeque from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, and eats from the The Real Dark Horse from 2-5 p.m. Sunday.

Dies Musikmeisters German Polka Band is scheduled to perform from 3-6 p.m. Saturday.

Buttons, hats and stein packages will also be for sale each day. Steins can also be reserved online for $30 — each purchase comes with a full 33.8 fill-up of the brewery's Oktoberfest beer.
