He’s Coming! He’s Coming! Conrad Birdie is coming! Spotlight Youth Theatre is proud to present its production of Bye Bye Birdie at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre beginning February 12th and running through February 14th. This fun and exciting show boasts a cast of 98 youngsters, ranging in age from 8 to 18.
Come take a trip back in time – to the 1950s where screaming teenagers are going crazing for the handsome rock star, Conrad Birdie! Disaster strikes when Conrad receives a draft notice to join the military. Thus, his manager attempts to stage a farewell party for Conrad in which the teen idol is to kiss one lucky fan on the Ed Sullivan Show before he leaves for the army. Kim MacAfee, from Sweet Apple, Ohio, is the lucky girl chosen. But conflict arises when her boyfriend, Hugo Peabody, gets jealous. Will things ever get set right?
