BATAVIA, IL — Admiring wildflowers is one of the joys of summer. Once fall hits, that doesn't mean wildflowers are gone.

On Oct. 4, the Batavia Environmental Commission is hosting a sunset wildflower walk at the Dick Young Forest Preserve, 39W115 Main St. The commission is partnering with the Kane County Forest Preserve District to host the free event.

The walk will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. so it can conclude before it gets dark out, organizers said.
