Woman Cited For Running Red Light In Fatal Crash

A 28-year-old Aurora woman has been cited for speeding and disobeying a traffic signal after she allegedly ran a red light and caused a crash that claimed the life of a Batavia man. Noel Lounsbury is accused of going through the red light while heading north on Randall Road at McKee Street in Batavia at about 8:40 a.m. on July 9, police said. Lounsbury's 2012 Jeep Wrangler struck a 2016 Buick LaCrosse.

The LaCrosse, which was driven by Terry W. Starck of Batavia, was westbound on Randall at the time of the crash. Starck, 57, needed to be extricated from his vehicle. He was then taken to Delnor Hospital where he later died, according to authorities.

Lounsbury was taken to Delnor Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later released.

Lounsbury is next expected in court on Sept. 5.
