Woman Cuts Neighbor's Face, Arm, Then Barricades In House: Batavia PD
The 30-year-old faces four battery charges, including aggravated domestic battery, after the Wednesday altercation with an elderly neighbor.
BATAVIA, IL — An elderly man suffered severe, but non-life-threatening, injuries after a woman cut his face and arm with a knife late Wednesday evening, according to Batavia police.
Police arrived at a residence in the 0-99 block of Oak Terrace Court around 11:26 p.m. There, they found the injured man, who is over 60 years old. Police and medics rendered emergency first-aid before he was taken to a local hospital.
The man was injured by a 30-year-old woman in a nearby residence, according to police's preliminary investigation.

When police first attempted to make contact with Amy S. Geren, officials said they were unsuccessful because she barricaded herself in the house. In order to speak with her, officers requested additional police resources.
Ultimately, negotiators from the Kane County S.W.A.T. team were able to begin speaking with the woman and convince her to surrender peacefully, officials said.

Geren was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery; aggravated battery with a victim older than 60; domestic battery, bodily harm; and domestic battery, insulting/provoking contact.
The Batavia woman was taken to the Kane County jail where she awaits a bond call.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking witnesses or anyone with information to call Batavia Police Investigations Division at 630-454-2500.
