BATAVIA, IL — It's that time of year again: the Chicago Woodturners and Windy City Woodturners are teaming up to raise money for local food banks.

The two organizations will set up Oct. 7 at the Batavia Boardwalk Shops to sell donated bowls and other wood items. The event will from from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until the items sell out.

Boardwalk Shop owners will also participate in the fundraiser by collecting canned goods and other food pantry staples. Shoppers who purchase or donate items will be entered in a raffle to win a gift basket filled with items donated by the Boardwalk Shops.

"Each item would make a beautiful holiday gift for your friends or family members, or you might find that 'something perfect' for your home decor," Batavia MainStreet staff said in a news release.
