Building a better Bilingual library at Thurgood Marshall Elem School- Donors Choose

Our school is rapidly embracing a growing ESL (English as a Second Language) student population. So many of these students feel isolated due to their inability to communicate with fellow students and teachers. As a Media Specialist, I see the need as the students struggle to participate in reading activities. It is so disheartening to watch ESL students search the library for material to read and engage with their fellow students. I would like to provide popular titles that they could read and then share the same stories with their English speaking classmates. Inclusion is pivotal to a successful learning process.
