1 Dead, 2 Stricken With Suspected Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Washington Heights: Reports

A woman was pronounced dead of suspected carbon monoxide fumes in Washington Heights. Two other adults in the home were also stricken.

CHICAGO, IL -- A 62-year-old woman was found dead of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning and two other adults stricken in a Washington Heights home late Satruday evening, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Emergency crews were called to a home around 9:15 p.m. in the 11300 block of South Church Street. Lydia Russell, the listed homeowner, was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult woman in the home was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center. Her condition is termed critical.

An adult man inside the home was taken to Evergreen Park’s Little Company of Mary Hospital in fair to serious condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
