2 Convenience Stores Robbed Within Minutes Of Each Other

The Chicago Police Department has added extra resources to the Mount Greenwood area in addition to regularly assigned officers.

CHICAGO — Two convenience stores in Mount Greenwood were robbed at gunpoint within minutes of each other in the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 5. Chicago 22nd District Police have issued a community alert.

Around 2:30 a.m., the robber walked into a store in the 3100 block of West 111th St. Moments later, at 2:36 a.m., a second store was robbed in the 10300 block of South Sawyer Avenue in beat 2211.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 15 and 20, and was wearing a winter coat with fur trim.

“The Chicago Police Department has already assigned additional police resources to our area, as well as to beat 2211 specifically,” Ald. Matt O’Shea said in an email to constituents. “Those resources will remain in the area as a supplement to our regularly assigned police officers.”
