22nd District Hosts Carjacking Safety And Awareness Webinar

CHICAGO — With carjackings in Chicago on pace to be the worst in two decades, the 22nd District will be hosting a vehicular hijacking st 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Chicago has surpassed 1,000 carjackings so far this year, on the heels of more than 1,400 carjackings in 2020, which had been the highest yearly total in nearly two decades.
According to the Cook County Sheriff’s database, there were 43.5 percent more carjackings across Cook County in 2021 compared to 2020, with more than 115 carjackings occurred in suburban Cook County.
