$30K Presented To Sinfonietta At Historic Beverly Home

From the Southside Friends of the Chicago Sinfonietta: The Southside Friends of the Chicago Sinfonietta recently presented a check for $30,000 to Chicago Sinfonietta CEO Jim Hirsch. The donation, raised at the group’s 18th annual Magical Holliday Breakfast held in December (2017) in the Crystal Garden at Navy Pier, was presented by Loretta Hopkins Davenport, 2018 President of the Southside Friends of the Chicago Sinfonietta, at a breakfast held in February at the Ingersoll-Blackwelder House in Beverly/Morgan Park.

The Southside Friends group support the Chicago Sinfonietta through fundraising, hands-on activities, and introducing friends and family to the orchestra. Donations from these dedicated volunteers benefit the Chicago Sinfonietta’s programs to expand performance opportunities to talented young musicians and classical music education outreach to the Chicagoland communities. The recent donation will help fund the SEED (Student Ensembles with Excellence and Diversity) and Project Inclusion programs. Musicians from Project Inclusion performed a chamber music recital at the Southside Friends’ breakfast event.
