Alderman Warns Of Stray Pit Bull Attack, Says Second Stray Sighted
A North Beverly woman and her dog are okay after being attacked by a stray pit bull. Authorities are searching for a second stray pit.

CHICAGO — A stray dog, described as a pit bull, attacked a woman and her dog Tuesday afternoon in North Beverly. The woman and her dog sustained several puncture wounds and are both now home resting, Ald. Matt O’Shea said in an email to residents.
The attack happened in the 2100 block of West Howland Avenue. The Chicago Department of Animal Care and Control has the dog in custody. The alderman said the woman and her dog were given assistance and support from several neighbors immediately following the attack.
The 19th Ward office has also received reports of a second stray pit bull in the community. The Chicago Police Department, animal control and Cook County Forest Preserve police have been searching North Beverly and the Dan Ryan Woods to locate the dog.

This second dog is described as a pit bull breed, 60 bounds, dark brown and white, with no collar or tags. If you’re out in the neighborhood or Dan Ryan Woods, please be aware of your surroundings. If you see a dog that fits this description, call 911 immediately.
