CHICAGO—22nd District police are asking residents and businesses for any footage of an alleged car takeover late Saturday evening in Morgan Park. Chicago police said they received over 170 calls to 911.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., 22nd District officers responded to reports of vehicles drifting and drag racing near 111th Street Western Avenue. Officers arrived within three minutes of the first 911 call, police said on Facebook. The group quickly dispersed when police arrived.

Despite initial reports of shots fired, officers and witnesses confirmed no gunfire occurred, 22nd District police said. Circulating video footage also confirmed that the reported sounds came from the modified exhaust of a black Chrysler 300 that was on scene, according to .

The 22nd District is in the process of reviewing available video from late Saturday evening. Any area businesses with footage showing license plates or other identifying information of the vehicles involved, are asked to call the 22nd District police on the non-emergency number, 312-746-6000 or 3-1-1.
