“She gave police several different stories about living at the house,” O’Shea said. “She literally walked out with three bags [of belongings].”

O’Shea said the home was occupied by a group separate from the four men arrested and charged last year who identify themselves as Sovereign Moors.

“She was told that if she returns, she would be arrested and charged,” the alderman said. “As she was being escorted out of the house the realtor was bringing in a locksmith to change the locks and secure the house.”

So-called squatters will often file paperwork claiming that a property has been abandoned. A public notice is posted on the home and the squatters move in.

The home has been secured by Applebrook Realty.

“Should anyone witness this home being inhabited, please call 9-1-1 immediately,” the alderman said.
