Attorney And Alumna Tapped To Serve On McAuley Board of Trustees

CHICAGO -- An prominent attorney has been appointed to the Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School Board of Trustees.

Vania Montero Wit is a 1986 alumna of McAuley. She is a well-respected attorney who earned a juris doctorate from Harvard Law School, and an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. Since 2011 she has been employed with United Airlines, where she currently serves as vice president and deputy general counsel.

“Vania, with her breadth of experience and legal acumen, will be a great asset to our board,” said Mary Acker Klingenberger ’75, McAuley president. “As an alumna and successful Latina, she values our mission and purpose in educating young women for lives of leadership and service. Exciting developments continue at McAuley and we welcome Vania’s perspective, energy and expertise.”

Montero Wit is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Leadership Board of the National Immigrant Justice Center and the Western Suburban Giving Circle of the Chicago Foundation for Women. She is the recipient of several awards including the 2017 Brava Award from Latino Magazine, which celebrates Latina mentorship. She is frequently called upon to speak at industry workshops and conferences.
