Bandit in Good Mood Robs Mt. Greenwood Bank: FBI

Suspect hit US Bank branch on Dec. 4 in what is being described as a non-takeover robbery, FBI says.

A new bank bandit emerged last week who knocked off a bank in Mt. Greenwood the FBI said.

Bank employees told law enforcement that an African-American man in his mid-30s to mid-40s entered the US Bank branch at 11159 S. Kedzie Ave. around 9:15 a.m. Dec. 4 in what is being described as a non-takeover robbery.

The suspect was around 6 feet tall and weighed between 200 to 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black knit cap, black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Judging from the bank surveillance images, he appeared to be in a good mood, too.

The FBI said he got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone who recognizes the man from surveillance photos or with knowledge of the robbery is asked to call the FBI’s Chicago office at 312-421-6700.

The suspect does not appear to be linked to any other bank robberies, according to BanditTrackerChicago.
