Berwyn Police Accepting Applications for Police Officers

The Berwyn Police Department is accepting currently accepting applications for the position of police officer. IOS Recruitment is handling the application process for Berwyn police. Applications and documents can be purchased online from from IOS, 1127 S. Mannheim Road, Suite 203, Westchester, IL 60154.

All applications must be received by 4 p.m. Nov. 11, 2015. There will be an orientation and written exam at 8:45 a.m. Dec. 5, 2015. The written exam will take place in the cafeteria at Morton West High School, 2401 Home Ave, Berwyn.

The starting salary for the position is $57,401 and includes an excellent benefits package. Preference points will be offered at a later date for military, education and residency.

There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or legal resident. The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and one of the following:

• Successfully completed 30 hours of law enforcement studies at an accredited college or university.
• Successfully completed 60 hours of general studies at an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of two years as a full-time peace officer.

In addition, applicants must have:

• Valid Driver’s License
• **21 to UNDER 35 years of age at application deadline (11/11/2015)
• Valid Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) AND Ladder Climb Certification issued by December 5, 2015. POWER test cards and Ladder Climb certifications are considered valid if issued within 12/5/2014-12/5/2015
• Must not have been convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanors, as defined by Statute
• As a condition of employment, applications must reside within the boundaries of the following counties within the state of Illinois: Cook, DuPage, Will, Kane, Lake, and McHenry
