Best Pizza In The Neighborhood? Vote In Bracket-Style Poll

CHICAGO - It's National Pizza Month, and everyone in the Midwest knows that Chicago pizza is the best in the country. But what about locally? Here, let's try to find the best pizza places in the Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood neighborhoods.

We started a poll a couple of months ago, but did not allow a fair way for all pizza places in the neighborhood to have a chance to win.

So now, we are going bracket-style.

Eight pizza places, ranked according to the number of votes received in the first poll. Only one of them will be dubbed the Beverly-Mt. Greenwood Patch pizza champion for 2018. UPDATE! Semifinals Set In Best Pizza Poll - Vote Here

We didn't include popular pizza places that are outside of the 19th Ward boundaries. Although we know Roseangela's, Vito & Nick's, Palermo's and others all may have had a good chance to win.

Also, since we had to pick only eight to make it a bracket, some pizza places in the ward could not be included as well. To pick the eight, we went based off of votes and popular suggestions based on comments via Twitter and Facebook users.

Here are the first round match-ups, with seeds in parenthesis: (1) Milano's vs. (8) Chuck's Pizza; (2) Tata's vs. (7) Wise Guy's; (3) Fox's vs. (6) Home Run Inn); (4) Barraco's vs. (5) Pizzeria Deepo

All first round tweets were posted between 2:30 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Which means voting in the first round will go for 24 hours, closing at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.

The second round (semifinals) and championship showdown will be held over the next few days.
