Beverly Breast Cancer Walk 2018: What To Know If You Go
Everything you need to know about the Beverly Breast Cancer Walk before it takes over much of the neighborhood on Mother's Day.

CHICAGO, IL — The Beverly Breast Cancer Walk returns for its 18th year on Mother's Day, which falls on Sunday, May 13 this year. Every year, the Mother's Day walk benefits the Cancer Center, the Comprehensive Breast Health Center and the radiology department at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park.
Pat Morley, development coordinator at Little Company of Mary, said she expects about 14,000 to attend the event this year. That's a sharp increase from the 30 or so people who showed up for the walk in its first year back in 2001.
"It has grown consistently," Morley said, adding her hopes that the 2018 event can at least match the $55,000 that was raised last year.

"Other than a sister walk we have in El Salvador, all the money stays here in the community," she said. "We've been able to hire a nurse navigator and clinical nursing coordinator from the money we've raised in years past."
Here's everything you need to know if you are heading out to what has turned into one of the neighborhood's largest yearly events.
