Beverly Obituary: Leroy J. Kelly, 95

Mr. Kelly served in the US Army as a lieutenant during the Korean War.

Leroy J. Kelly, 95, of Rockford, formerly from Chicago, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born March 25, 1921 in Britt, IA, the son of Martin & Anna (Sherman) Kelly. Received his degree in interior design from IID. Served in the US Army, as a lieutenant during the Korean War. He was an interior designer who owned Kelly & Orr Furniture, with his wife Jane Orr Kelly from 1951 – 1975 in Beverly Hills, Chicago. Member of the American Society of Interior Designers. He enjoyed golfing, reading, traveling the world, and commercial real estate.

Survivors include his significant other for over 20 years Marie Cook; sons Kermit (Rose Ann) and Lee (Barbara) Kelly; grandchildren AJ, Pierce (Kat), and Tim Kelly; great grandchildren Rob and Harrison Kelly. Predeceased by parents, son Martin, two sisters and four brothers. A Memorial service Open House will be held on March 25th, his 96th birthday, in Beverly Hills Chicago form 2 to 7 PM.
