Break-In Forces 103rd Street Ticket Office To Close Early
Metra police are investigating a break-in at the 103rd Street ticket office on the Rock Island line.

CHICAGO – The Metra ticket office at the 103rd St.-Beverly Hills station on the Rock Island Line was burglarized overnight, causing an early stop to ticket sales at the office that plans were to close anyway in a few days.
The break-in was discovered early Tuesday morning, according to a news release from Metra. It wasn't mentioned what was stolen nor how the burglars gained access.
Metra announced recently that the ticket office at the 103rd Street station would close at the end of the day on Monday, Oct. 15 due to declining in-person ticket sales and the increasingly popular Ventra app that allows riders to buy tickets on their phones. Because of the break-in, the ticket office will be closed immediately. Riders will still have access to the station's facilities and can purchase one-way tickets from a conductor on the train at no extra cost.
