Catholic Cemeteries Observe Memorial Day 2017 With Field Masses

Listing of field Masses at Chicago-area Catholic cemeteries for Memorial Day, May 29, 2017.

CHICAGO, IL -- Memorial Day Field Masses will be celebrated at Catholic and parish cemeteries across the Chicago region on Monday, May 29, 2017.

This year, Chicago continues its participation in the national program, “Serving God and Country: A Memorial Day Salute to Our Heroes.” The annual Memorial Day remembrance was established by the Catholic Cemetery Conference, to honor men and women of the armed forces who died while serving their country, as well as active military and veterans.

During the Masses, veterans present will be asked to come forward for a special blessing followed by the playing of Taps.
