Chicago Police Department Employee Gunned Down in Morgan Park
Man's daughter told ABC 7 that her parents were unloading groceries with grandson when shooting began.

Chicago police are looking for three suspects who fatally shot a Chicago Police Department employee as he unloaded groceries from his car Wednesday evening.
John Buckner, 59, was a 25-year civilian employee who worked in the police department’s equipment and supply section, ABC 7 Chicago said.
Buckner was standing with another 41-year-old man near West 115th Street and South Church Street around 8:45 p.m. Police said that three people approached the men and opened fire, mortally wounding Buckner. The three people rode off on bicycles.

News reports said that Buckner was struck in the lower torso and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Buckner died during surgery.
The 41-year-old man with Buckner was struck in the ear and was also brought to Advocate Christ, where his condition was stabilized, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Buckner’s daughter told ABC 7 News that her parents and their 11-year-old grandson were unloading groceries when the shooting began.
Police have not released any additional information on the suspects.
