Community Invited To Mass For Fallen Officer Sunday At St. Christina
The community is invited to Sunday mass, Nov. 10, at St. Christina Church in Mt. Greenwood to pray for fallen CPD Officer Enrique Martinez.

CHICAGO — The community is invited to come together Sunday, Nov. 10, to pray for fallen Chicago Police Officer Enrique Martinez and his family at St. Christina Church in Mt. Greenwood. The mass will start at 10:30 a.m. at 3342 W. 111th St., Chicago.
“It doesn’t matter what your faith is. It doesn’t matter where you live,” Fr. Ryan Brady said in an invitation. “God bless Officer Martinez and his family and all of those who have their lives to serve our city.”
Attendees are encouraged to wear blue in a show of solidarity. Chicago police officers and CFD members are also invited to wear their uniforms.

The mass will serve as a time of unity, prayer and community support for those affected by this loss. St. Christina Parish serves a meaningful gathering place for the Mount Greenwood community when many police officers and firefighters live, as they come together in support and remembrance.
The young officer's body was brought to Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn Friday morning from the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 17 at Blake-Lamb, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn (103rd Street and Cicero Avenue). A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave., Chicago.
