Daughter's Desperate Search For Dad Missing 3 Months Goes National
Wendy Davis hopes that "National Find Dan Day," Feb. 21 and Feb. 22, will generate new leads for her missing father, Dan Davis, 59.

CHICAGO — After three months with no new leads or sightings, the search for Dan Davis, 59, is going national. His daughter, Wendy Davis, is asking for volunteers to join the search team this weekend, Feb. 21 and Feb. 22, for “National Find Dan Day.”
Wendy Davis’s desperate and relentless search for her father has drawn national attention. Dan was last seen in person in the early morning hours of Nov. 25, leaving entertainment venue 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, where he served as the head lighting director for more than two decades.
Hours earlier, Dan had been involved in a head-on crash near the Garden Homes Fire Department, and he may have suffered a head injury but refused medical treatment, despite appearing disoriented captured on Cook County Sheriff’s Police dashcams. Dan was given a ride from the crash scene back to Bourbon Street by Cook County Sheriff’s Police.

“He was just wandering the streets, cutting through yards, looking confused and lost,” his daughter said. “This behavior is unlike him.”
The last video sighting captured Dan leaving St. Donatus Church in Blue Island around 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26, the night before Thanksgiving. There have been no more confirmed video sightings of Dan since then. A commenter on the FIND DAN DAVIS Facebook page pointed out that in Dan’s video sightings in Blue Island, that his red Indiana State University hooded sweatshirt was inside out.
Due to videos of Dan’s sightings on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, as well as other evidence prior to the crash, it is believed that he possibly suffered a mini-strke or similar medical episode causing disorientation and memory loss.
“My dad would never, ever do this to his job, to me, especially during the holidays without telling anybody,” his daughter told Fox-32 Chicago.
Wendy’s quest to find her dad has garnered millions of views on TikTok, with over 50,000 joining the FIND DAN DAVIS Facebook page, where people visit for updates as well as to share photos and leads.

Expansive searches involving volunteers, drones, K9 teams, divers and sonar. There has been no activity on Dan’s credit or debit cards, or his phone. His keys have not been found.
This weekend, Feb. 21 and Feb. 22, volunteers will go back to again search those areas where Dan was last spotted. Organizers are asking supporters to join the search team in any they can by physically searching the Cal-Sag Channel area in Blue Island, going door to door, or by hanging Dan’s latest missing person flier in their communitys, and by calling shelters and hospitals in their area. Volunteers can sign up on the NATIONAL FIND DAN DAY Facebook event page
Wendy and her mom, Jenn Barber Masuka, Dan’s ex-wife, who have spearheaded the search, are hoping that the nationwide push will generate new information and leads.
They are also asking Southsiders who own/work at a rail yard, tow yard, “junk” yard, pallet company, recycling plant, refiner, golf course, cemetery or farm – to carefully inspect their open grounds. Check giant piles, accumulated brush, dumpsters, fence lines, drainage ditches, accessible underground vaults, etc., and ask co-workers to do the same.
“Dan Davis is a beloved father, friend, and creative powerhouse originally from the Bloomington, IN area … [He] has served as the head lighting technician at South Side bar and music venue – 115 Bourbon Street. Dan has been the ultimate creative force behind every production here for over 25 years, all without missing a single day of work. Those lucky enough to spend time with Dan know that not a moment went by without some laughter from one of his jokes he always had loaded up. Truly the definition of ‘to know him is to love him,’” his daughter writes.
