CHICAGO, IL - Chicago police officers will be on the prowl for drunk drivers Friday night in the 22nd District. The Chicago Police Department's "DUI Saturation Patrol" will run from 7 p.m. Friday, June 22 until 3 a.m. on Saturday, June 23 in the district.
"The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving," according to a community alert notifying residents of the neighborhood to the planned crackdown. "Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations."
The exact location of the patrols within the 22nd District are not released by police before the crackdown. Assume they will be throughout the neighborhood and don't drink and drive here or anywhere.
