DUI Crackdown In Beverly/Morgan Park Saturday Night
Police officers will be sent throughout the 22nd District Saturday night looking to arrest drunk drivers.

CHICAGO, IL – The Chicago Police Department's "DUI Saturation Patrol" will be back in the 22nd District on the South Side this weekend. Chicago police announced plans this week to send roving police officers to the 22nd District, which covers all of the Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood neighborhoods as well as a portion of Washington Heights, to look for drunk drivers from 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29 until 3 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30.
"The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving," Chicago police wrote in a community alert about the planned DUI crackdown. "Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators."
Police publicly announce where they plan to hold the DUI unit on the weekends. Another one this weekend is planned for the Austin neighborhood on the West Side Friday night.
