DUI Patrol In District 22 Friday Night

Police officers will be looking for drunk drivers in Chicago's 22nd Police District.

CHICAGO - A DUI crackdown is planned for Friday night in the 22nd Police District, which polices the Beverly, Morgan Park, Mount Greenwood and Washington Heights neighborhoods on the South Side. Chicago police say that roving police officers will be out throughout the district from 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5 until 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 6.

The purpose of the Chicago Police Department's "DUI Saturation Patrol" program "is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving." They say patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations.

Breath Alcohol Testing mobile units will also be available to help speed up the process of charging a drunk driver with a DUI.
