Private Service Planned Tuesday For Fallen CFD, Supporters Asked To Line Route To Cemetery
An invitation-only service has been rescheduled for Tuesday at Blake-Lamb for fallen Chicago Firefighter/EMT Michael Altman.

CHICAGO—The family of Chicago Firefighter/EMT Michael “Mickey” Altman, will hold invitation-only services Tuesday at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn. The fourth-generation firefighter was killed fighting an arson fire March 16 in Rogers Park.
Altman’s funeral mass at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel was postponed last week when his wife, Nora, went into labor on Thursday, the day of her husband’s visitation, giving birth to a baby girl, Evelyn Rose. The couple were also parents to a toddler son, Theodore.
While the visitation and solemn walk-through at St. Rita went on as planned that evening, the firefighter’s body was escorted back to Blake-Lamb.
