Fatal Washington Heights Shooting Marked Chicago's 500th Homicide Of 2017
A 47-year-old man was gunned down in a park car at 101st and Racine Sunday night, marking the city's 500th homicide of the year.

CHICAGO, IL -- The 500th homicide of the year in Chicago occurred late Sunday night in Washington Heights. John Bolden, 47 was killed after he was shot while sitting in a parked car at 11:22 p.m. in the 10100 block of South Racine Avenue. The death marked the 500th homicide and 465th shooting death across the city of Chicago in 2017, according to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times.
Bolden was struck multiple times by a gunman who was firing from a gray van. He was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 12:20 a.m.
