CHICAGO – Expect rolling closures Monday morning during the funeral procession for fallen Chicago Police Ofcr. Luis Huesdca. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave., Chicago.

The funeral procession is expected to leave Blake Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn at approximately 9:15 a.m. (you may want to be in place by 9 a.m.), taking the following route:

  • Eastbound on 103rd Street to Western Avenue
  • Northbound on Western Avenue to 77th Street
  • Westbound on 77th Street to St. Rita of Cascia parking lot

Interment for the fallen officer will take place on Chicago's North Side at Rosehill Cemetery, 5800 N. Ravenswood. Chicago police have released the procession route from St. Rita to Rosehill:

  • East on 77th Street to Western Avenue
  • South on Western Avenue to 79th Street
  • East on 79th Street to State Street
  • North on State Street, merge onto I-94 West
  • North on I-94 West, local lanes
  • Exit 53C, I-55 North / Lake Shore Drive / 22nd Street
  • Exit right to I-55 North to North Lake Shore Drive
  • Exit U.S. Route 41 / North Lake Shore Drive
  • North on DuSable Lake Shore Drive to Bryn Mawr Avenue
  • West on Bryn Mawr Avenue to Ravenswood Avenue

The Oak Lawn and Chicago Police Departments have issued a traffic alert for the area. Motorists can expect rolling closures during the procession.
